Atta boy

Gonna make a difference, gonna be a leader.  NOT!  Your trying to cuddle up with Jenny Kwan tells the whole story, not calling for her resignation your bullshit tweets claiming you want to work with her.  Good I hope you win the NDP Leadership and you can both sit collecting your grossly inflated welfare cheques she has a lot more experience than you so hopefully you will have the smarts to follow her lead but I kinda of doubt you could find a teat

That Place

Don't you wish some times that this were true.
Or that the latest pontifications from some dip shit ended after a set number of characters.
I read a complaint on Facebook the other day about people expressing their opinions on a political issue and how ignorant they had proven themselves to be. How fucking arrogant do you get while posting pictures of your left over dinner.  Sometimes things bother me and that one just about set a record.

To switch the subject my friend Darrell posted a video of 2008 CKVU recently, fond memories of a good friend were envocted.
Thanks

Nuff Said?

Graham Harrop's view for Saturday, March 22, 2014

My guess is this story will start to die down but it shows me why so many people become disenfranchised with our political system.

Troubling to say the least.

Read On

I read a lot.   From newspapers, websites to books.  It helps me to stay on course,  I often wake up in the middle of the night with a brain in overdrive so I have to pick up something to detour some of the negative things, reading pretty much anything helps to alleviate that. Reading seems to slow some of life down to a reasonable level.  I thought of taking a run at a local MLA in this blog but it seems somewhat of a bit after the fact.  Probably far better to let better writers than I tell that disgusting  story. But just in case you live Iin a vacuum.

The person in question.

But read on, it at times is far better to keep reading than to take a prescribed or for  that matter recreational pharmaceutical to sooth the savage mind.

Then even when I follow my own advice I repeat really stupid mistakes.  Why do I have such an aversion to proof reading before I push that dreaded send button? Or sitting a day to allow my mind to clear before posting.

After all the article's yesterday re. the above issue perhaps a life line is thrown.

Ms. Kwan has to resign in my opinion there really is no other option.  She is not far separated from her Federal Senate Collegues.  Taking a leave of absence to spend time with her children while admirable, rings familiarly hollow.

But read on dudes.

Good Read

Blogorrhea (short for Blog Diarrhea) refers to compulsive, excessive, and/or meaningless ranting/raving by an individual on a blog.

Sound like someone?

This book has me thinking

I love Sherlock Holmes, always have

And to now have him come back in my life is amazing.  I read all of the stories as a kid then again in my 20's and again and again thru my life.

I could go on and on but take a look, it makes a hell of a lot of sense to me.

Look up some more of her stuff.  I have become a big fan because what she says makes a whole lot of sense.

'Eliminate all other factors, and the one which remains must be the truth.'

Sherlock Holmes Quote

-The Sign of Four

I have mentioned that in some of my other posts I see a phsychiatrist.

'I listen to their story, they listen to my comments, and then I pocket my fee.'

Sherlock Holmes Quote

-A Study in Scarlet

Somewhat appropriate, I dare say.

'When a doctor does go wrong, he is the first of criminals.  He has the nerve and he has the knowledge.'

Sherlock Holmes Quote

-The Adventure of the Speckled Band

Have some fun with this, take time to re read some of the old stories and place them in a modern context.

Twitter Talk

I wonder sometimes if we would all be better off if we had a limit on how long or how many words we were allowed to use on any given subject.  Kind of Twitter talk.  How many times have you started or been part of a conversation and quite early on went, whoa!

Ever wonder how to get out of a conversation.

http://www.artofmanliness.com/2013/03/06/how-to-end-a-conversation/

Interesting.

We all know people that feel they are giving a lecture or a speech when talking.  I have a short attention span and have to make a conscious effort to listen at the best of times.  To listen to some guy go on and a on while my mind is taking me to completely different places, it is especially bad if the person is monotone,  Jesus Christ it is better than a sleeping pill.  Then there is the guy I like to call "Senator Fog Bound" knows just enough about everthing that they feel they have  to enlighten you with their great girth of knowledge.  Sometimes known as "Bombastic Twits" loving to listen to the constant drone of their own dribble.

Remember God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason.

All over the place

The distance between you and I

Suffering from a racing mind this week. So here are my thoughts, not in any particular order.

Photographer's quotes.  What the "F"? Who cares, the picture is suppose to do the talking.  Oh well

Love this, don't know why

Met this little guy while waiting for the Seabus, for some reason he took a shine to me....go figure.

Child attack.  Someone call the police.

Listening to old Steve Earle songs.

Life goes on I suppose.  Feel sorry about a lot of things that are going on in the world, Ukraine, missing Airliner and many more issue's.

But

None of this rambling excuses the Vancouver Canucks of course

Ramble to you soon.

My old friend the blues

Ok, we all have those days.  Things don't go the the way you want or the way you think they should.  To much rain on all of us.

Lovers leave and friends will let you down
But you're the only sure thing that I've found
No matter what I do I'll never lose
My old friend the blues
Steve Earle.

Back along time ago I lived by some of these songs and words.  I caught this one playing on the radio the other day and it took me back in my memories.  We all hear a song and it takes us to places we were or it does for me, shouldn't pretend to understand what goes on in your mind.

Just when every ray of hope was gone
I should have known that you would come along
I can't believe I ever doubted you
My old friend the blues
Another lonely night, a nameless town
If sleep don't take me first, you'll come around
'Cause I know I can always count on you
My old friend the blues.
Steve Earle

Music has always played a big role in my life.  And I think that in the lyrics so much is said without all the verbal diahera that so many people use and say very little of meaning.

So what am I saying?  Don't have a clue, but take the time to view this and think how you're feeling.

Lou

So it finally ends.

Cannot really say much that somebody a whole lot more knowledgable about sports than I am undoubtedly well say.  As a fan of the team and of his, it hurts.

Another rebuild we didn't get much for him except financial relief.

Hard not to blame Gillis for this whole thing.  Bad management period.

Think before You Post

Yet another incident coming out in the news over the weekend at the University of Ottawa.

When will people learn?  I suppose we all have dum thoughts some time, but the times have changed and writing them down and then posting them or even communicating them in a text or email is probably not your smartest move.  Everyone has spoken stupidly or out of turn but frankly hear say seems to hurt a lot less than seeing it in black and  white.

Here's a link to a so called professional photographer that gets him self in a bit of a bind over the subject.

We have all gone off verbally on occasion and had to apologize to the people within in earshot but in today's world of social media it seems everyone is always "just a shot away" sometimes just a screenshot away.
I am guilty of more than once thinking a stupid thought and verbalizing it or even worse writing it and then pushing that send button Arghhhhhhhhh, it doesn't come back sometimes not even with a heartfelt amend.

Write it if you must, put it a way for a while before you let her rip.  Remember the man upstairs is a pretty smart guy and he gave you two ears and one mouth for a reason.

Ukraine

President Obama warns Russia to stay out of Ukraine or face 'costs' for military intervention

I cannot look at this situation in the Crimea and not look back on history.  Yes the are immensely different but there are similarities as in everything.

Or else what?

Bad man

If Vladimir Putin has a mind to invade Ukraine — which looks increasingly obvious — the world had better get used to him doing just that.

Certainly, the Russian strongman will not be impressed by President Obama’s underwhelming statement on Friday that “there will be costs for military intervention in Ukraine.”

Russian armored personnel carriers and a truck are parked on the side of the road near the town of Bakhchisarai, Ukraine, on Friday. Obama has warned Russia to stay out of Ukraine's conflict.

In 1983 America invaded the tiny island of Grenada.  Basically for cozying up with the Cubans and hence the Soviets.  That is not the whole story but do some research on your own.  There was also some American students studying at a a medical college called, and I couldn't have made this up, True Blue Medical Facility.
As it happens in the brilliant planing there was actually two campus sites and forces did not reach the second one till some 30 hours after the first which would make one wonder over the actual threat to these medical prodigy.

The invasion of Grenada was code-named Operation Urgent Fury, but it was neither urgent nor furious.

Margret Thatcher sent her good friend a message on the morning of the invasion as Britain and Canada as well as most of the Commonwealth, Grenada is a member, were not amused at Ronnie's plans.
This action will be seen as intervention by a Western country in the internal affairs of a small independent nation, however unattractive its regime. I ask you to consider this in the context of our wider East/West relations and of the fact that we will be having in the next few days to present to ourParliament and people the siting of Cruise missiles in this country. I must ask you to think most carefully about these points. I cannot conceal that I am deeply disturbed by your latest communication. You asked for my advice. I have set it out and hope that even at this late stage you will take it into account before events are irrevocable.[27][28] (The full text remains classified.)

Obama couldn't stare Putin down when it came to Assad and Syria believe me he won't be duing it here either.  Not with a Naval Base and a whole lot of Russian ex pats and sympathizers sitting there.
