My friend in Horseshoe Bay

I've taken and posted several pictures of this bird, now I don't pretend to know that much about him or her cause I couldn't tell you what sex he or she is.  Pretty sure it's a Blue Heron and I am pretty sure it is the same bird that I see regularly fishing on the bay.  I get angry when I see people and their dogs playing too close and I am also angry about the fact that he or she may be affected by this oil spill.

Beach side press conferences and all the political bullshit from both sides aside, my friend can't speak but I can hear.

We need to do better.

Not In My Backyard

You really do have to read this article to get the jest of what I am talking about.

Hard not to shake your head but yes this is real and happening in my old neighbourhood.  I went to high school not more than a few blocks from this location.  Graduated and then went to the University (College then) just down the road.  In addition I have been through 3 rehab programs, 2 live in and one daily drop in.  New Westminster, one month. 8 people, men only.  Vancouver two months 32 people, male and female.  West Vancouver 6 weeks, male and female.  I have been homeless.

“A homeless person is not a resident of North Vancouver,” she said. “Homeless people can’t be residents of anywhere.”

Sorry lady but I am your neighbour.

Got this via an email from one of the programs I attended.

Turning Point faces a public meeting this Thursday with local neighbours against the proposed new recovery centre for nine men.

If you can be there to offer quiet, steady support to our good colleagues they would be most appreciative.

The public meeting will be held this Thursday, February 19th at Parkgate Community Centre (3625 Banff Court, North Vancouver) at 6:30.

Mad World

So here we go again, cartoonists, journalist's being targeted as enemies of a religion by nothing but morons,  don't call them zealots, jihadist, foreign fighters, freedom fighters, or defenders of a particular religion, or anything other than social misfits.  Quit glorifying it.

I like cartoonists a lot.  They draw a picture, write a sentence, and make me think ten times more on the subject than some long winded reporter  going bla, bla, bla.

There is lot's of bla, bla ,bla on social media, myself included.  Some of us disagree,  feel ours is the only way.

It probably isn't.
